Pro-Am Snooker - 2015 PMK Invitational
2nd-3rd May 2015 - Minnesota Fats Club, Glasgow, Scotland
McGILL TAKES PMK INVITATIONAL
Anthony McGill continued his great form with victory at the PMK Invitational Pro-Am competition.
The 16 man event was held at the Minnesota Fats Club in Glasgow and boasted an impressive line-up including 4 times World Champion John Higgins.
But it was new sensation McGill - fresh from his last 8 run at the Crucible a few days previously, who would reach the final after dropping just 2 frames.
Yet he perhaps saved his best performance to last after falling 3-0 behind to fellow Scot Michael Leslie in the best of 7 frames final.
With breaks of 73 and 65, he showed his battling qualities to deny his Bonnyrigg opponent in taking the match 4-3.
The six amateurs in the event all received a 14 point per frame advantage, but all perished at the first hurdle.
Higgins, who only a week earlier was losing to Ding Junhui in the second round at the Crucible, also fell in his opening assignment to experienced Englishman Peter Lines.
