Professional Pool - 2015 PartyPoker World Pool Masters
14th-16th August 2015 / The Victoria Warehouse, Manchester, England
LAST MINUTE REPRIEVE
FOR ARCHER AND PEACH
Johnny Archer and Daryl Peach have been awarded last minute slots at this months PartyPoker World Pool Masters at the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester, England.
The Matchroom hosted event is the most prestigious invitational on the pro pool circuit, with 16 of the world’s best players cueing up in knockout action over the long weekend.
Archer is well used to travelling for Matchroom events - especially Mosconi Cups, for which he is Team USA’s most capped player with 17 appearances.
A two time WPA World 9 Ball Champion in 1992 and 1997, the World Pool Masters is a trophy that has eluded him. He aims to set that record straight, starting with an opening round clash against Australian youngster James Georgiadis.
Archer is the replacement for Johann Chua of the Philippines, who was ruled out due to visa issues.
Peach, who is a former WPA World 9 Ball Champion himself, and the 1995 winner of this tournament, refills the British contingent after Scotland’s stateside based Jayson Shaw also had logistical problems, and was made unavailable.
It is a second bite of the cherry for ‘The Dazzler’ having lost a qualifying play-off to fellow Englishman Mark Gray only a few weeks earlier.
Peach will face Qatar’s rising star Waleed Majid under the Sky Sports cameras.
It has also emerged that South American participant Chistopher Tevez has also had to withdraw due to visa problems. He will be replaced with the in-form Swedish star Marcus Chamat, who will play Niels Feijen in the first round.
