At Q's Sports Entertainment Bar in Manchester, Bodle beat Jamie Wilkes 8-6 to become the Northern Amateur champion.

Bodle resisted a comeback from his opponent after initially leading 4-1 and 5-2; taking the last two frames to breakaway for the victory.

Breaks of note - Bodle (47, 51, 48, 48, 41) Wilkes (62, 53, 63)

Townsend was relatively comfortable in defeating Adam Bobat 8-3 at Frames Sports Bar in Coulsdon, finishing off with an 81 for the Southern title.

The winner of one of the most prestigious and recognisable titles in amateur snooker will apparently be known on the 9th April at the South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester.
