English Pool (World Rules) - 2016 UK Tour, Event 1

5th-7th February 2016 / Imperial Hotel, Blackpool, England

QUICK START FOR HILL

Current and 3 times WEPF World Champion Mick Hill instantly opened his 2016 winning account by taking the first UK Tour of the new season.

Six of Hill's seven victories were won virtually back to back on a bumper Saturday at the famous Imperial Hotel in Blackpool.

His route to a £2,400 payday culminated in a final showdown with former WEPF World and reigning Premier League Champion, Phil Harrison.

Hill started off perfectly, claiming the opening four frames with 8-ball clearances off his breaks, and Harrison's dry one's.

Phil got on the board in the fifth, but Mick extended his advantage with the next two to 6-1.

Almost down and out, Harrison got to within touching distance when claiming four on the spin of his own, but Hill resisted the comeback to scoop the remaining brace of frames he required for a 8-5 success.

In the Challenge Event taking place on the same weekend for players not in the Premier League, Giueseppe D'Imperio took the top honours.

The holder of the WEPF World Under 23's title was comfortable throughout the majority of his fixtures to the crown, eventually defeating Chris Gill 6-1 in the final.
