Amateur Snooker - 2015 IBSF World Championships
9th-21st November 2015 / Sunrise Grand Select Crystal Bay, Hurghada, Egypt
IBSF SWITCH VENUES
The International Billiards and Snooker Federation have announced another change to the venue of their marquee event this November.
The 2015 World Amateur Championships will still take place in Egypt, but now in the city of Hurghada between the dates of the 9th-21st November at the Sunrise Grand Select Crystal Bay. It will also still be in conjunction with the help of the Egyptian Federation of Billiard Sports.
It is the second time the festival has been altered after it was initially awarded to Cape Town in South Africa. Due to logistical problems it was then switched to the popular resort of Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt; thus keeping it in the African Continent.
The prestigious and historic championships will have disciplines for Men, Women, Masters and the inaugural staging of the tournament involving Athletes with Intellectual Disabilities.
The Men’s section carries $16,000 in prize money, and, more importantly, a World Snooker Professional Tour Card for the following two seasons. The other three categories each have $8,000 up for grabs.
