Eight players remain in the quest for the fourth Challenge Tour event of the season that is being played to a conclusion at the Stadthalle on Tuesday.

42 amateurs entered the tournament, an increase on the third tour stop in Riga last month, but still 30 short of what full capacity is supposed to be.

Former UK Semi-Finalist and currently number 2 on the Challenge Tour rankings, David Grace won a trio of matches to make the Last 8.

Event 2 winner in Preston, Grace next plays fellow recently relegated professional Mitchell Mann in Furth. Mann is currently third in the standings and lost to Grace in the final of that event 2 final.

Elsewhere in the bottom half of the draw the in-form James Cahill will face Ben Hancorn.

In a re-run of Event 3's final from Latvia, Barry Pinches repeated the result and scoreline when eliminating youngster Jackson Page 3-2 in the opening round.

However, fourth placed Pinches lost his next match to rankings leader and event 1 winner Brandon Sargeant, 3-0. Sargeant's hopes of another CT title were dashed, though, when Farakh Ajaib knocked him out 3-1 in the Last 16. Ajaib crosses cues with Dylan Emery tomorrow.

The other Quarter-Final in the top half of the draw sees Steven Hallworth pitched with Ka Wai Cheung.

After all 10 Challenge Tour events have been completed, the top two from the rankings will be rewarded with guaranteed two-year professional tour cards.
