  IBSF TO HOST UNDER 18’s WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

In a brief piece of snooker news, the IBSF (International Billiards and Snooker Federation) are to organise the first ever Under 18’s World Snooker Championship.

They already have a portfolio of championships with categories including Men’s, Women’s, Master’s, Under 21’s, Team and Billiards.

The inaugural staging of this new selection will be held later this year in St.Petersburg, Russia, between the dates of 3rd-11th October 2015.

Member governing bodies will receive information in due course.  

This can only be a good thing for snooker to have another international tournament on the calendar, although it is yet to be heard whether the winner will get a professional tour card from World Snooker.
