PAKISTAN

Gul Afzal won the 2015 Islamabad Snooker Championship with a 4-2 victory over Yasir Nadeem at the Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad.

Now the championships 4th edition, Afzal lost the opening frame with Nadeem making a 55 break. However, he would take the 4 of the next 5 to run out the champion.

AUSTRALIA 


Australia’s number 1 ranked player Matthew Bolton retained his Dr. Clem Jones AO Queensland Open title at the Brisbie Sports Club in Brisbie Island.

The $12,000 competition was the first national ranking meeting of the season and Bolton started off his campaign in an ominous fashion.

He dropped only 4 frames over the long Australia Day weekend, whitewashing Hayden Goode, Richard Peric and Shaun Dalitz along the way.

In fact his only real test was in the final against Hassan Kerde, as he came through 5-3, making breaks of 55 and 50.

Semi-finalist Aaron Mahoney made the highest break with a 111.
