THE AMATEUR ANGLE - KACI'S ALBANIAN HAT-TRICK

Multi-talented cueist Eklent Kaci has won his third successive Albanian National Snooker Championship.

Held across three days, the event featured 30 players. Initially it was played to a Double Elimination format until the straight Knock-Out Quarter-Finals where four players from the Winners Side were joined by four from the Losers Side.

Teenager Kaci won his matches in the qualifiers 3-0 and 3-1 to make the Last 8. From there he defeated Donald Shkodra (3-1), Besar Spahiu (4-3) and Dorjan Maknori (4-0) in the Quarters, Semis and Final respectively. Maknori also progressed to the final without losing.

On a global scale Kaci is better known for his American Pool skills. He sensationally topped last year's World Pool Series rankings after winning two of the four events staged in New York. The series - which was played to the 8 Ball discipline, featured many of the world's best players.

The Albanian Snooker Federation was created in March 2015 and Kaci has claimed all three editions of this competition. Many thanks to its President Ogert Shkrepa for the information.
